I was intrigued by Brad Patterson’s blog challenge – compare and contrast two pictures. Even though I shouldn’t be ?wasting time on this, my two pictures (excuse the poor quality of the first) are

Questions?
a what is similar about these two pictures? What is different?
b what is, or should be the function of things like this?
c where do you think they are and who did therm?
d what do you think of them?
(And here are some other people who’ve had a go at the same idea (er, thanks – maybe – Brad for causing me to get totally distracted from work…..). I’m sure I haven’t found everyone who’s done it, so if I misssed you out sorry…..

Haha… glad to aid you in your procrastination, Jeremy.
Esas fotitos vengano del DF ? Architecture reminds me of the spot where Diego Rivera did some AMAZING murals. What is the function of art ? Wonderful question… and the question is the answer is it not ?

And as for the function of art, I think Octavio Paz put it better than I ever could:

Thanks again, Brad, for your generous contribution to schedule reorganization skills
Thank you, Jeremy, for sharing your photos.
Ah… Octavio Paz. He wrote a beauty of a book “In light of India” which literally changed my life, drawing me East and into yoga and all sorts of other adventures. Nice to bump into you here, Gloria !
